What’s included? This pdf download includes x3 pages designed in landscape orientation featuring ten pairs of hands (each showing x10 fingers!) to practise counting up to 100 in 10’s. This resource has been designed in black and white for easy, clear printing. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for pupils in Y1 and Y2 as well as students needing additional learning support. This resource may be suitable for some pupils in Reception. Resource layout The simple lay out of pairs of hands, clearly showing ten fingers in each (blank) box is an easy to use (and re-use!) resource. Numbers can be written straight onto the sheet (and wiped off if laminated). Size 40 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font makes the numbers easy to read and the simple layout makes the process of counting in 10’s visually clear to young learners. Page 1 The first page has x10 boxes of ten sets of fingers with a large blank box under each image where the learner can write the correct 10’s number. There is a reference above (showing all 10’s numbers in order to 100) - to support less able learners/learners ‘new’ to ‘counting in 10’s’. The numbers 10, 50 and 100 have already been typed in the boxes, leaving x7 number gaps for the learner to complete. With three completed numbers and a reference guide clearly displayed above this is the least challenging sheet in this set. Page 2 The second page is the same design (x10 boxes of ten sets of fingers with a large blank box under each image where the learner can write the correct 10’s number). As on page 1 there is a reference above (showing all 10’s numbers in order to 100) - to support less able learners/learners ‘new’ to ‘counting in 10’s’. Page 2 is a blank version which, when printed and an adult could write some of the 10’s numbers in, leaving gaps for the learner to write the remaining 10’s numbers in. If given to a learner as it is (without any numbers written on) this page is the more challenging sheet in this set. Page 3 The last page (3) is also the same design layout, however ALL 10’s numbers to 100 are included in the boxes. This makes page 3 a helpful reference/answer sheet which learners can use to check their answers themselves. Recommendations This PDF has been designed to print and use as practical write-on resource, it could be laminated to enable reuse.

This download includes x2 pages featuring x10 butterflies - one black and white, one rainbow version. There are x2 A4 pages in total, both portrait orientation. Each page clearly features ten butterflies. Each butterfly’s left wing shows one part of each double (in ‘dots’) in order order up to 10. Learners can complete the other half of each double by drawing ‘dots’ e.g. with a felt tip pen onto the space on the right wing. The total number of dots can then be written on the line underneath to complete the sentence e.g. ‘Double 1 is 2.’ These beautiful ‘doubles resources’ have been carefully designed for early years and pupils in years one and two as well as students needing additional learning support. Halving to 12 in order Fruit in colour

What’s included? This download includes one resource - two pages featuring x12 ‘half’ problems (using fruit/veg) to complete - each of the x12 questions involves sharing the total amount (from 1 to 12) into two equal groups - or ‘halves’. The learner will discover which numbers between 1 and 12 can and cannot be halved and of those numbers which can be halved equally learners will identify how much ‘half’ is. Resource layout The learner can draw a line from each fruit/veg to each ‘plate’ pictured below to systematically share out the total number of items (fruit/veg) each time until all have been shared (or not!) I find it helpful for learners to say out loud “One for you and one for me” as each item is being shared/distributed to each plate either physically or as the line is being drawn linking the fruit/veg to each plate, every time. Where the total number is ‘even’ (and the fruit/veg can be shared out equally) the learner can write the number of fruit/veg on one plate (the ‘half’ amount) on the line underneath at the end of the question (e.g.) 'Half of 2 is 4 For the even numbers (which can successfully be split equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the green ‘tick’ displayed, for the odd numbers (which cannot be shared equally into half!) the learner can ‘circle’ the red ‘cross’ displayed before moving on to the next question. At the end of the second sheet there are x12 matching questions about each individual number to recap on which of the numbers between 1 and 12 can/cannot be split equally into half. The colour of the box around each question correlates to the colour of the question completed above guiding the learner more clearly (visually) back to each question box above to check their finding if needed. There is also a space to write those numbers which can be split equally into half together (the even numbers!) and those which cannot be split equally into half can be written together (the odd numbers!). The questions in all boxes have been designed to look the same in order that the learner can make the discovery that ‘even’ numbers can be shared into two equal 'halves’ (and odd numbers cannot!) for themselves. Once complete this resource makes a useful reference tool to refer back to as needed to assist young learners during various maths linked activities. This resource uses ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font in sizes 18/22/25 making the text and numbers easy to read as well as modelling the process of halving numbers (from 1 to 12) clearly to young learners. What’s included? x3 sets of blank addition sums, x1 black and white and x2 rainbow themed, portrait orientation, pdf format. Resource layout Size 40 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font makes the number signs + = easy to read and the large boxes model a clear layout of the addition process to young learners. The portrait format provides optimal space for each sum, a good sized box enables learners to place small objects and draw these to count and record the total amount. There is a line underneath each box on which to write the numbers. This PDF has been designed to print and use as practical write-on resource, it could be laminated to enable reuse. This resource is also ideal to upload and use in on-line classrooms, such as Sherpa. Recommendations The simple lay out of each (blank) addition sum is an easy to use (and re-use!) resource. Numbers can be written on the sheet (and wiped off if laminated) either in the larger box or on the line underneath each box. Small objects can be placed in each box (I have successfully used small coloured matchsticks with this resource if these are not deemed a choking hazard for your little learner/s). Once the correct number of matchsticks/items have been counted out into the larger boxes (and the corresponding number has been written underneath) the matchsticks/objects can then be moved to the ‘total’ or ‘=’ box to find to whole number (when all matchsticks/objects are combined). The answer to the sum can then be recorded ‘in’ or ‘under’ the large box at the end of the sum (on the right side). The black and white version is ideal for photocopying, the coloured version makes each separate sum clear plus I know how important colour can be for little learners! This beautiful resource has been carefully designed for early years and pupils in years one and two as well as students needing additional learning support. There are x15 ‘A4’ pages, all portrait orientation. Each set clearly features twenty butterflies and twenty recap questions. Resource layout Each butterfly’s wing shows one part of each double (in ‘dots’) in order/random order up to 20. Learners can complete the other half of each double (by drawing ‘dots’ e.g. with a thick felt pen onto the space on the right wing) and write the total number (of dots) on the line above to complete the sentence e.g. ‘Double 11 is 22.’ Size 22 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font makes the text e.g. ‘Double 2 is …’ easy to read and clearly models the process of doubling numbers to 20 to learners. The different designs in order/random order can be used to introduce learners to doubles and/or consolidate learners knowledge of doubles to 20. The x20 recap questions at the end enable learners to consolidate their ‘doubles knowledge’. In the colour version the ‘outline colour’ of each ‘question box’ matches the ‘doubles butterfly’ above providing a visual link for the learner to check back to each corresponding butterfly, if needed, before committing to writing answers in the question boxes at the end. Recommendations I recommend that learners explore the concept of ‘doubling numbers to 20’ practically before recording their learning. Using physical coloured matchsticks or lolly sticks and a sheet of A4 folded/with a line drawn down the centre is a simple way to begin! When using these resources small coloured matchsticks could be placed on top of the butterfly wings each time (for a learner with good fine motor control) to then physically count how many match sticks there are in total before drawing the total number of matching dots (on the right wing) and writing the total number (above). What’s included? This download includes two A4 pages (landscape orientation) with x10 number bonds to 5 sums (in order) in pdf format. The answers (page 2) are in the same layout for easy comparison. Who’s it for? These ‘number bonds’ have been carefully designed for early years and pupils as well as students needing additional learning support. This resource has been designed around ‘moving vans - with moving boxes’ and ‘taxis’ with 'vehicle lovers’ in mind as to motivate our learners linking to personal interests and life experiences wherever possible can be a powerful way to inspire and engage. Resource layout Page 1 In the upper section the learner is to match the number on each house window with the number on the 'moving house’ van - drawing a line (from the ‘door handle’ dots on the house to the black dot on each moving van above the number) to connect each number bond pair which makes 5. In the lower section the learner is to match the number on the taxi with the number on the taxi rank sign which - together - make a total of five. Page 2 Shows all number bonds matched (the answers) clearly displayed in the same layout (as page 1) for easy comparison and quick reference. Lines can be drawn on the sheet (and wiped off if laminated) using a short (15cm ruler) to show accurate matching. What’s included? This download includes two A4 pages (landscape orientation) showing x10 number bonds to 5 sums (in order) in pdf format. The answers (page 2) are in the same layout for easy comparison. Who’s it for? These ‘number bonds’ have been carefully designed for early years and pupils as well as students needing additional learning support. This resource has been designed around ‘diggers’ with 'vehicle lovers’ in mind as to motivate our learners linking to personal interests wherever possible can be a powerful way to inspire and engage. Resource layout Page 1 On the left the learner is to match the number on the top of the digger with the matching number of rocks (towards the centre line) - drawing a line (from the ‘hole’ dots) to connect each number bond pair which makes 5. On the right the learner is to match the number on the top of the digger with the number of cones (towards the centre line) which - together - make a total of five. Page 2 Shows all number bonds matched (the answers) clearly displayed in the same layout for easy comparison and quick reference. The simple lay out of each doubles sum is an easy to use resource. Lines can be drawn on the sheet (and wiped off if laminated) using a short (15cm ruler) to show accurate matching. The numbers are size 16 ‘Avenir’ font, the headings are ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font, size 20. Recommendations If physical support materials are helpful to use as well small objects could be placed in each box such as small coloured matchsticks (if these are not deemed a choking hazard for little learner/s). Once the correct number of matchsticks/objects have been counted out into the boxes and the learner is content with ‘how many are needed to make 5’ the learner is to draw a line connecting the two numbers for each number bond which (together) make 5. This PDF has been designed to print and use as practical write-on resource, it could be laminated to enable reuse. Who’s it for? This resource has been designed for pupils in Y1 and Y2 as well as students needing additional learning support. This resource may be suitable for some pupils in Reception. What is it? Two items are included to download in pdf format. The ‘rectangular cards’ are in portrait orientation and the ‘counting in 10’s Matching boards’ are landscape orientation. This is a simple game for one or more players which can be played in various ways to practise and reinforce counting in 10’s to 100. The simple, clear instructions are included on the game cards and boards. Layout of resources included… ’Counting in 10’s cards’ There are x7 different coloured sets of ‘Counting in 10’s cards’. Colours (and order) of the ‘Counting in 10’s cards’ are red (page 1), yellow (page 2), green (page 3), blue (page 4), purple (page 5) pink (page 6) and grey/black (page 7). Instructions or ‘Ways to use these cards’ are included on each page. The cards can be cut out and used to practise/check ‘counting in 10’s’. The additional ‘grey/black’ set has been included for easy photocopying if using a set of these cards on their own (without the matching boards or as part of a group game). The 10’s numbers on the ‘Counting in 10’s cards’ are Size 50 ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font making the numbers easy to read and the simple layout makes the counting in 10’s visually clear to young learners. ’Counting in 10’s - Matching boards’ There are x6 different coloured ‘matching boards’ which have been designed to pair up with my sets of ‘Counting in 10’s cards’. Colours (and order) of the ‘matching boards’ are red (page 1), yellow (page 2), green (page 3), blue (page 4), purple (page 5) and pink (page 6). Game instructions are included on each board. Games to play… Game to play using ‘Counting in 10’s cards’ These could be used in a variety of ways including as a game where each learner has a set of coloured cards to collect. For a game ‘Counting in 10’s cards’ can be sorted into colours and shuffled. Each player to have one coloured set each. Cards to be placed face-down in a grid and players take turns to turn over one card. If it is a player reveals their own ‘colour’ the card is kept. The winner is the first player to collect all x10 cards in their colour set and position these in the correct order from 10 to 100. Treasure hunt These cards could be used for a coloured ‘treasure hunt’ where one set of cards are hidden within a specified area for learners to find, then order to 10’s numbers (once all colours in set have been found). Resource layout Page 1 In the upper section there is a row of ten tower blocks with a numbered main door. In the middle and lower section are two rows of five postal vans, each with a number and that same number of letters (envelopes). The learner is to match each number on the postal vans with the number of the tower block by drawing a line to connect each number bond pair (which makes 10). Page 2 Shows all number bonds matched (the answers) clearly displayed in the same layout (as page 1) for easy comparison and quick reference. Lines can be drawn on the sheet (and wiped off if laminated) using a ruler to show accurate matching. The numbers on the doors of the tower blocks are size 14 ‘Avenir’ font. The numbers on the postal vans are also Avenir font - size 20. The headings are ‘Sassoon Infant Std’ font, size 16. What’s included? This download includes x2 pages, portrait orientation, in pdf format. What is it? This is a simple game for two players to reinforce 2D shape names and the number of sides each shape has. The game includes two boards on page 2 (one for each player) with a space for each player to write their names on the line above. All that is needed in addition is a die (dice). One to share is best to promote turn-taking. Players take turns to roll the die. The number on the die indicates the number of sides of the shape e.g. a circle has ‘one’ side therefore if the player rolls a ‘one’ with the die the ‘circle’ can be ‘ticked off’ on the board. Alternatively a counter/‘matching 2D plastic/wooden shape’ could be placed on top of each shape on the board once the shape has been ‘rolled’. The first player to tick off (or cover up!) all 2D shapes on their board is the ‘winner’ ! Clear visual instructions are included on page 1 of this resource which the players could be encouraged to read themselves before playing the game. Who’s it for? This ‘2D shape name game’ resource has been designed for early years and pupils in years one and two as well as students needing additional learning support. What’s needed? One die (dice) to share or one each. Foam dice are great as really quiet! Optional A shallow box, e.g. half of an empty cereal box laid flat on its back with front removed (ideally lined with a piece ‘felt’ fabric to soften sound) to roll the die into could be used to avoid dice rolling away (e.g. off a table top). This should avoid any momentum of the game being interrupted while searching for lost dice ! Resource layout The instruction text is size 14 ‘Avenir’ font. Instructions are included on page 1, the game itself (x2 game boards) are included on page 2. Recommendations This PDF has been designed to print and write-on. It could be laminated and a dry-wipe pen used to enable reuse and improve durability.
